Tricia Rae Boyce
Modern, Dancehall and Soca Teacher
I am an avid performer for the past 16 years with performances that includes acting, dancing and occassional backup singing. I am also a dance teacher and fitness instructor. I consider myself to be “well-seasoned” in this industry. I have performed and choreographed for artistes such as 3Canal, Iwer George, Machel Montano, Chuck Gordon, Lyrical, Olatunji, Blaxx and Sekon Sta just to name a few. I worked with a soca star Jovan James from his first round of competition (Synergy Soca Star) earning him a spot in the final with my concept, costume and choreography. I also choreographed and worked with Super Blue in his comeback in the semi-final round of International Soca Monarch 2013. I worked alongside K-rich for his carnival season in 2012 doing choreography and costume. Having been onstage for all those years as a dancer and choreographer, I found my new passion and love for the preparation aspect, the behind the scenes part of a performance, show or event. I have a penchant for perfection and great organizational skill to which I always apply to my craft. I love to see great preparation and an even greater end result.
Realizing my new found interest (for behind the curtian) and also being very artistic, I decided to touch the costume making side as well. I designed simple costume for Andrea Codrington’s (R.O.A.M) dance video for Bunji Garlin’s “She Bad” found on youtube, simple but effective. I was also responsible for Sekon Sta’s entire soca monarch presentation in 2016 inclusive of set and costume design. Taking all this into consideration, I decided to get my education in this feild. After graduating The University of the West Indies with Certificate in Dance and Dance Education, I entered the University of Trinidad and Tobago at the Academy for the Performing Arts where I was able to widen my knowledge of what I do best, create. I obtained a Bachelors in fine Arts in the area of Theatre Design and Production with a specialization in Stage Management and Production Management after four years of study. Here I was able to delve into set design, costume design, costume making, lighting and sound. After graduation I became the house stage manager and teacher at Elle NYTT Dance Company with Lashaun Prescott with whom I am still currently employed. I danced with 3canal for the past 7 years and assisted stage for one of those 7 productions. I managed Jayron Remy’s production HearTT with artistes such as Mark Hardy, Yung Rudd and the legendary David Rudder. I had the pleasure of working alongside BET’s ”Hit the Floor“ Rob Riley at the Decibel Expo in 2016 where I stage managed their dance presentation. Currently I am employed with Trinidad’s Premier Theatre, Queen’s Hall.
After all this exposure, experience and learning opportunities, Stagewiz Management was born and I continue to pursue this business idea for bigger and better inside and outside the carnival season. With Stagewiz you receive a package that includes choreography, concept, coordination, management and costume design tailored to suit the customer. I make your thoughts a reality. Less work for you, and with pleasure, all the work for me.
